A great headshot ensures you’re making the best impression possible. The Career Center and Illini Union are excited to announce the Professional Portrait Lab, free student professional digital headshots that you can use on LinkedIn, websites, directories, etc.

Illini Union Room 335
(3rd floor, North side of the building, door is next to the vending machines)
Headshots are available twice a week throughout the school year Wednesdays (1:15 - 3:15 p.m.) and Thursdays (12:30 -1:30 p.m.) on a first-come, first-serve basis. No reservations. If the line is long, we will cut it off 20 minutes prior to the end time. Individual headshots will take approximately 5 minutes and are taken using a professional background (1 option, only), lighting, and equipment. You will have the opportunity to review your digital photo before leaving. Once approved, we will upload your headshot to Box and send you an email confirming delivery. You will have 48 hours to download your photo. Note: You may only have one headshot taken each semester.

Simple Tips to Make your Headshot Stand Out
- Keep your shoulders down and back to bring the attention to your face.
- A slight twist of your body will give dimension and depth to your headshot.
- Keep your chin and face directly forward for a strong and confident photo.
- Have an energy or emotion behind your expression and don’t let it get stagnant. Smile!
